    Makerere University Biomedical Research Centre Limited (MakBRC) is a Centre of Excellence and company wholly owned and guaranteed by Makerere University. MAKBRC aims at bridging the gap in medical research. With our resilient team, we hope to catapult our level in Africa to the 1st class level.

    Research

    We are a Center of Academic Excellence, Health Care and Collaborative Research. We pride ourselves in the start-of-the-art facilities; the laboratories, experienced staff, and the Biobank.

    Prof. Moses Joloba

    The Leadership team

    Prof. Moses Joloba is the current Ag. Managing Director at the Makerere University Biomedical Research Centre [MAKBRC]. He is an infectious disease expert with a focus on pathogenesis, diagnostics and program implementation using both conventional microbiological and modern molecular approaches. In this regard, he has acquired the necessary training and skills, and he has played a leading role in the strengthening of laboratory services in Uganda and other developing countries.
